Portland ended the month on a hot streak–more than a week of weather in the 90 – 100+ degree range. It’s much hotter than normal, for a longer time than normal–in fact, this is the longest period of time in recorded meteorology that it’s been this hot. A single mom was in a car wreck, endangering her health and her job.
In July we experienced a broad range of events for with our young families. Baby born to a homeless family. A young man who has stayed clean for more than a decade struggles with maintaining his sobriety. A long-time guest at our dinners is missing. Another was beaten up.
We fed around 150 people a week in July. We handed out stacks of diapers, wipes, and toys to the kids. The need is great. What can you do to help us?
Stay cool–
